Ojukwu's Body To Tour Four Countries Before Burial in Anambra State

STATESMEN are usually given state burial but former Biafran Leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, will get more than that. His body will be flown to three African countries and one American country before the final burial in his Nnewi country home, according to his will.

Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, who gave the indication, yesterday, in Awka said that Odumegwu-Ojukwu listed where his body would be taken to before burial.

Nigeria ready to punish same-sex marriages with 14-year jail terms

The senate passed a bill on Tuesday outlawing same-sex marriage in Nigeria as well as banning public displays of affection between homosexual couples.

The bill, which still must be approved by the House of Representatives and signed by President Goodluck Jonathan, spells out a 14-year jail term for anyone involved in same-sex marriages.

Those who abet or aid such unions could be given 10 years, as would “any person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs… or directly or indirectly makes public show of same sex amorous relationships,” the bill says.British Prime Minister David Cameron has warned that his country will consider withholding aid from countries that do not recognise gay rights.

Senate President David Mark said during debate on the bill on Tuesday that “our values are our values.”“If there is any country that does not want to give us aid or assistance just because we want to hold on to our values, that country can keep her aid and assistance,” he said.

“No country has the right to interfere in the way we make our own laws because we don’t interfere in the way others make their own law.

Lagos Driver Who Impregnated His 12years Old Daughter Gets 14years Jail Term

Mr Philip Michael, a driver has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling his 12 year old daughter which resulted in pregnancy. The family social services unit of the Lagos State Ministry Of Youth And Social Development heard of the abuse and arrested him.

During the interrogation the victim Miss Happiness Michael was forcefully taken from her biological mother and, he had sex with her on several occasions. Her pregnancy was detected by her school teacher.

Building Collapses In Ikeja,Lagos

Several people sustained injuries in the early hours of Monday after a building collapsed in Ikeja, Lagos.Those who visited the scene at 114 Oba Akran Road, reported that officials of the state Emergency Management Agency were on hand evacuating those trapped in the building. The building was a cold room owned by Hano Industry.Millions of naira were said to have been lost as thousands of cartons of frozen fish littered the scene.A security guard said the building began to shake a few minutes before the incident. Thank God there were no casualties.

Prince William Saves Sinking Russian Sea Men

After capturing the attention of the world in his royal wedding to Katherine Middleton, Prince Williams, the heir to the British Royal Dynasty has made the news again in his line of duty.Williams who is a Flight Lieutenant known as William Wales in the Royal Air Force, was co-pilot in a four-man rescue helicopter crew that responded to an emergency call at 2am on sunday to save a Russian ship Swanland's hull that was sinking due to bad weather in the Irish sea.

Prince William's crew were able to save two men airlifting them to safety at William's base on the Welsh island of Anglesey. The body of one of Swanland's crew has since been recovered and five are still missing

It is baby number two for the Osakioduwas as Popular OAP and TV host IK and wife Olohi took delivery of a baby girl early today!

The baby was born this morning, Monday, November 28, 2011 at a hospital located on Victoria Island.

And excited IK took to Twitter hours ago to post the picture of the newly born baby. The TV host for Big Brother Africa and Olohi already have a two-year-old child,Sahar.IK is a radio show host at popular seaside station Rhythm 93.7 while his partner Olohi works as an event planner for kids.

Wales football manager Gary Speed has died at the age of 42.Sources have said Speed, the national manager for nearly a year, was found hanged.Cheshire Police confirmed he was found dead at 07:08 GMT at his home in Huntington, Chester. They said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Former Wales team mate Ryan Giggs said: "Words cannot begin to describe how sad he feels at hearing this awful news." He was married with two kids.

El-Rufai Loses Daughter

Yasmine el-Rufai, eldest daughter of the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasiru el-Rufai, was found dead in her residence in London yesterday. She was 25 years old.

The cause of her death is still unknown but there was a suspicion of domestic accident.

Yasmine holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics (LSE). She also has a law degree from the University of London.

Ailing leader of the defunct Biafran Republic and  leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu is dead.

Ojukwu also known as  Ikemba Nnewi was said to have died in the UK after months in hospital for the treatment of a serious stroke he had suffered late last year. He was 78years old. May his soul rest in peace , Amen.

Moses Ayanwole (41), a Nigerian driver,married with a child and based in Hartstown, west Dublin, Republic of Ireland, has died after being attacked in his taxi by a passenger at about 12.30am on MondayNov 21.

He was punched in the head, and he fell heavily on to the ground as his taxi was parked on Pearse Street near Erne Street junction. After the attack, he fell into a coma and died yesterday at St. James’s Hospital in Dublin after suffering serious head injuries.
