86 year old grandma steals the show at gymnastics champs

Johanna Quaas, 86, of Halle, Saxony, had the crowd going wild at the 2012 Cottbus World Cup in Germany as she showed off her impressive balance, strength and flexibility. Quaas was a late starter, beginning her gymnastics training at the age of 30. But that hasn't held her back


At my young age:-) i can hardly raise my legs and here is a grandma working it. Amazing !

Black and white twins Kian and Remee turn seven

One is black and has big brown eyes. The other is a blue-eyed blonde with the palest of skin. They might share the same cheeky smile, but side by side, they could hardly look less alike. Yet remarkably, Kian, pictured left, and Remee, right, are twins, born a minute apart.


The pair owe their appearance to a one in a million combination of their parents’ genes. 

Mother Kylee Hodgson and father Remi Horder both have white mothers and black fathers.

The startling result is a two-tone set of delightful little girls. 

They first attracted international attention when they were featured in the Mail at less than a year old.

Former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu had another phase of his 60th birthday celebration at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos some days ago

SaharaReporters reported that, the former governor's monthlong event is costing Lagosians and individual Action congress states N1 billion with local government areas forced to cough out N10 million each. The government of Lagos state puts in N150 million. Governors of Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Osun, Oyo and Edo states all made N50 million donation each.

The rest of the money was donated by lawmakers and other politicians and contractors who benefit from the largesse dolled out during the former governor's rule in Lagos and beyond. Yesterday's event at the stadium is shown here in pictures.

The Nigerian secret police today arrested a 7-man kidnap gang in Osun state. The gang were paraded before journalists at the headquarters of the SSS in Abuja.

Captain Stiliyan Petrov diagnosed with Leukaemia

Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia. He is now being treated in a London hospital, with the news coming as a shock to the West Midlands club.

Petrov, who has been a regular this season, hasn't trained since feeling sick with high temperatures in last weekend’s defeat at Arsenal.

Hotel deserted as seven die in Delta accident

 Seven employees of a new hotel along the Ozoro-Asaba Expressway, Ellu, in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, were killed in a road accident on Wednesday.
The hotel said to be owned by a man nicknamed Oduduyekeyeke was deserted as the news of the death of the seven men, including the hotel manager, broke.

The trio of 55-story towers that make up Singapore's Marina Bay Sands include hotel rooms, a museum, a casino, a convention center, and a waterfront promenade.

There are an incredible 2,561 hotel rooms at the Marina Bay Sands.

Moshe Safdie, the architect of the Marina Bay Sands, has said one of the challenges was to "address the issue of megascale and invent an urban landscape that would work on the human scale." His solution was to design the complex around two central axes to give a sense of orientation.

The three towers of Marina Bay Sands are connected by the two-and-a-half-acre SkyPark, which has gardens, an observatory, and a 492-foot swimming pool.

The family of Bolton's Fabrice Muamba has posted a picture of him on Twitter from his hospital room.

It is the first public photo of Muamba since he suffered a cardiac arrest in the FA Cup tie against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on 17 March.

The 23-year-old collapsed on the pitch after 41 minutes of play and was "dead" for 78 minutes.
He was given mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and 15 defibrillator shocks before he reached hospital.
The former England Under-21 international was rushed to the intensive care unit of the heart attack centre at the London Heart Hospital, where he has remained since.

The picture was tweeted on his behalf by his fiancee Shauna, who said: "Fab wanted me to post this pic for you all and to also say thank you for such overwhelming support."
