Football To Be Suspended In Italy For Years
ITALY Prime Minister Mario Monti last night sensationally claimed football in the country should be suspended for two or three years.
A second match-fixing scandal in the last six years is currently gripping Italy, with the latest stage of a probe carried out by Cremona prosecutors on Monday resulting in the arrests of 19 people, among them Lazio captain Stefano Mauri.
That brings the total number of arrests to around 50 since last year.

The students of University of Nigeria, Nsuka, woke up to find one of their students Okonkwo Onyebuchi hanging from a rope in an unfinished Franco building beside the hockey pitch in their school. Roommates of Onyebuchi said he left the room around 2am this morning and they thought he had gone to study, only for his corpse to be found dangling from a rope this morning. He was a 3rd year Physics and Astronomy student in his early 20's. So so sad.

Wannabe Incredible Hulk covers himself in green paint... and then discovers it won't come off
A 35-year-old Brazilian man, Paulo Henrique dos Santos, has achieved overnight celebrity in his local area, after he painted himself to look like the Incredible Hulk for a running event, but got a nasty shock when the time came to remove the green paint. He found the color wouldn't wash off.
As if being bright green wasn't embarrassing enough, the local press ran pictures of his mother trying to remove the paint - and referred to her as his girlfriend. Lol!
It was only after being scrubbed by a gang of friends and neighbours for 24 hours that Paulo finally removed the stubborn staining.

Charles Taylor sentenced to 50 years in prison for war crimes

Taylor was found guilty last month of 11 counts of aiding and abetting war crimes and crimes against humanity by supporting rebels between 1996 and 2002 in return for conflict diamonds. He was convicted of offences including murder, rape, sexual slavery, recruiting child soldiers, enforced amputations and pillage.
Delivering the sentence on Wednesday, Judge Richard Lussick said Taylor's crimes were of the "utmost gravity in terms of scale and brutality".
With this sentence, this guy will only walk free at 108 years!!!
3,000 'witches' lynched in Tanzania in six years
Some 3,000 people suspected of witchcraft, mainly old women, were lynched in Tanzania from 2005 to 2011, a leading local rights group said Tuesday.
"Between 2005 and 2011 around 3,000 people were lynched by frightened neighbours who thought they were witches," the Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) said in a report.
"On average 500 people...
particularly old women with red eyes, are killed every year in Tanzania
because they are suspected of being witches," the report said.
The provinces hardest hit are Mwanza and Shinyanga in the north of the country, LHRC said.
"In Shinyanga province for example 242 people were killed because of
local beliefs in witchcraft between January 2010 and January 2011
alone," it said.The rights group explained that red eyes are feared as a sign of witchcraft, even if they in fact often result from the use of cow dung as cooking fuel in impoverished communities.
The centre said that many local
people believe that witchcraft is behind every misfortune from
infertility and poverty to failure in business, famine and earthquakes.
Cat Divorce: Israeli Man Divorces Wife Over Her 550 Cats
A man from southern Israel is divorcing his wife because she adopted 550 pet cats, the Times of Israel reported Wednesday.
According to the paper, the unnamed man complained in his divorce docs that the hundreds of kitties hindered his home life at every turn: they blocked the entrance to the bathroom, swarmed the kitchen, and stalked him at mealtime by stealing his food off the table.
And though the couple reportedly gave reconciliation a shot at the behest of the rabbinical court, the wife ultimately choose the cats over her husband, and the pair decided to go their separate ways.
Let this be a warning to the Russian woman living in a two-room apartment with 130 cats: never marry.

Armed bandits rob and rape passengers of an Abuja bound bus at Sagamu!
Two
females in a bus conveying passengers from Lagos to Abuja were last Tuesday
raped by armed robbers who attacked their bus at Sagamu area of Ogun State.
The
gunmen also robbed all the passengers. PUNCH Metro learnt that the
incident occurred around 12noon.
It was
gathered that the three-man gang armed robbers were among the passengers that
boarded the bus at Jibowu area of Lagos.

Tension mounts in Opi, Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu
State as masquerades took turn in the series of rape stories synonymous with
the community. The alleged rape of a female student, Ngozika Ugwu,
presented mixed feelings and reactions to what may have bedevilled the
community in the recent past.
Rape stories in Opi, a community in the university town of
Nsukka, have occupied major national dailies, hitting banner headlines, from
the three quarters that make up the community, Idi, Ogbozalla and Ibeku.
In 2011, the story of the rape of women between 70 and 80
years spread like wild fire in the country, raising eyebrows on the motive for
such inhuman and barbaric act by, especially, youths of the community. Some of
them were fingered and allegedly arrested, interrogated by the police but
could not be persecuted because of want of evidence.

Gay men from 22 countries took part, and this year's competition was noteworthy because it was the first time it was held on African soil. It addition, it also marked the first time that black African men participated, though there were just two.
Mr. Gay World was a five-day competition that includes a wide range of events. They included physical fitness tests, interviews and, of course, the nightwear and swimsuit competitions.
"Strange things" have been happening in Africa lately. Definite signs of the end times!!!

UNILAG Students Protest Name Change By President Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria today renamed one of Nigeria's most prestigious universities after deceased politician, Moshood Kashimawo Abiola . The decision triggered students of the institution to engage in mass protests in Lagos to resist the name change.
The students shut down the school’s entrance gate, preventing vehicles from entering the campus as they protested the change of the institution’s name from University of Lagos [UNILAG] to Moshood Abiola University of Lagos [MAU]

Man allowed to appear in court in blouse and skirt after being turned away for wearing shorts
A 47 year old man, David Jeffries-Tipton, was told by ushers at Cannock Magistrates Court his summer attire of shorts and a vest top were not appropriate clothing and was turned away from the building. But disgruntled David, who was due to face magistrates for a minor criminal damage charge, reappeared at court soon after in red floral skirt and light-coloured silk blouse.

Groom who was dumped twice by African bride, prepares to marry Kenyan woman he met on dating website
A builder dumped twice by an African bride who used him to get a UK visa has denied being Britain’s most gullible groom as he prepared to marry a second Kenyan beauty.Tim Reeves, 58, was dumped by Priscila Njenga the day after she got her hands on a spouse’s visa following their wedding.
Amazingly, when she turned up at his door begging for help getting her daughter into Britain - heartbroken Tim took her back.But the day after he secured her daughter’s visa Njenga left him for the second time and has never returned.
He later learnt she was already married and had lied about her age - telling him she was 34 when she was 40.Mr Reeves,now suspects the whole wedding was a scam and that many of the guests were actors brought in to dupe him. But despite his experience, Mr Reeves is now engaged to Kenyan Maryanne Wanja, 26, who he has known for four months after they met on an African dating website.

During her second concert last night of her four-date stint at Revel Beach Ovation Hall in Atlantic City, the Single Ladies star told the audience about her post-pregnancy regime.
'Y'all have no idea how hard I worked,' the 30-year-old told her fans. 'I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!'

Lagos Bus driver killed by cocaine ingestion
A 34 year-old commercial bus driver recently met his untimely death as a result of wraps of cocaine that ruptured in his stomach.The victim, Ozoani Sunny Edwin, returned from Brazil on board of a South African airline flight at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Ikeja, Lagos.
