He is head of the world's biggest family - and says he is 'blessed'  to have his 39 wives. Ziona Chana also has 94 children, 14-daughters-in-law and 33 grandchildren. 

They live in a 100-room, four storey house set amidst the hills of Baktwang village in the Indian state of Mizoram, where the wives sleep in giant communal dormitories.He even married ten women in one year, when he was at his most prolific, and enjoys his own double bed while his wives have to make do with communal dormitories.

He keeps the youngest women near to his bedroom with the older members of the family sleeping further away - and there is a rotation system for who visits Mr Chana's bedroom.

Rinkmini, one of Mr Chana's wives who is 35 years old, said: 'We stay around him as he is the most important person in the house. He is the most handsome person in the village. 

She says Mr Chana noticed her on a morning walk in the village 18 years ago and wrote her a letter asking for her hand in marriage. Choiii, most handsome man in the village? lmao!

Ajimobi’s wife denies money laundering arrest in London

Wife of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Florence, has denied reports of her arrest by the Metropolitan Police in London.Speaking with journalists in a telephone interview on Tuesday, the governor’s wife described the news of her arrest as the handiwork of the opposition trying to discredit the Ajimobi-led administration in the state.

An evening newspaper had, on Tuesday in its online version, published a report entitled ‘Anxiety over Florence Ajimobi’s alleged arrest in UK.’ An online agency, Newsleak,also claimed that the wife of the governor had been arrested in London for money laundering.

Asked if she was invited by the police since her arrival in London, she said, “No, not at all. I came back with my daughter on Sunday. Now, I am getting ready to come back home. I have not been invited by the police and I don’t know what all this is about.”

She is not a new face in the Nigerian movie ndustry. The Anambra-born ace actress seems to have gone underground in the movie business. In this interview, she spoke on her relationship with veteran actor, Pete Edochie, sex in Nollywood and other issues bothering on entertainment. Excerpts:

Tell us your name?

My name is Rita Tony Edochie, I am of the Nollywood. I grew up with my uncle, Mr. Okaka of the Railways Corporation because my mother took me to him immediately after the civil war. I was very small, I was just two years old. I lived with him throughout my primary school and after that, I came to Onitsha for my secondary school. Immediately after my secondary school, I got married. I entered the university and graduated in 1990, I have been a broadcaster with Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS). Acting is a flair and I love it very well.

Favorite Halloween costume goes to?

Oyo first Lady arrested in London for being in possession of N100 million

First lady of Oyo state, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi has been alleged to have a case of money laundering proffered against her following her arrest two weeks ago by the London Met Police for being in possession of about N100 million.The governor’s wife was reportedly held for a few days in London before her husband came to bail and stand surety for her pending when her case will be heard in court.

Wary of the potential incalculable damage such news could do to his administration, Governor Ajimobi cooked up a lie about “an emergency business trip” to Taiwan while he actually headed to London to save his wife.

Met police authorities accept the guarantee provided by a sitting high profile government official in cases of money laundering such as this. Since her return to Nigeria two Sundays ago, Mrs. Ajimobi has avoided public gatherings, shunned invitations and cancelled her previous appointments.

As is typical with such high profile cases, top notch Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) have been engaged to wriggle her out of the money laundering and sundry charges. This exclusive set of lawyers, about three in number, are led by ex-NBA President, Chief Wole Olanipekun.

Mrs. Ajimobi left for London early hours of Sunday, October 28 2012, following the expiration of the week-long bail granted her to prepare a defence team as the case will be charged to court soon.

Cossy Orjiakor Set to Release Album

Busty Nollywood actress, singer and dancer, Cossy Orjiakor, is taking her music career to the next level. Cossy on phone told E-Daily that she would be doing an album launch come December 15, 2012 and she plans to feature several notable acts in the album. Though she declined to mention names but she promised that some of the names would be names already making waves in the music industry.

"I am putting finishing touches to the album. I can assure you that the album launch would be on December 15th of this year at the Prest Boat Cruise, Lekki. The album is a 15-track album. I am still gonna do small tidying up and work with other acts and producers" she said.

Cossy launched her musical career some years back and she has some singles to her name. The singles "You Want Me and You and Me" are part of the 15-track album Cossy plans to unleash.

New york's longest night, after a night of being battered by Superstorm Sandy, the US's largest ever storm, left the areas looking like the set of a disaster movie. It hit the mainland at 6.30pm local time last night having laid waste to large parts of the coast during the day. The US city shut its mass transit system, schools, the stock exchange and Broadway, and ordered hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers to leave home to get out of the way as Sandy zeroed in. 

Sixteen deaths were reported in New Jersey, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.Among the dead in New York were two children killed instantly by a falling tree in Westchester County, a woman electrocuted to death by falling wires in Manhattan and a 29-year-old man killed in a car crash in Queens. A 30-year-old man was also killed when a tree fell on his house in Flushing, Queens.

A message to Lagos Okada riders - Ismail Adefolaju

The recent protest by commercial motorcycle operators, popularly called Okada in Lagos, is highly uncalled for.During the protest, the operators destroyed a number of property, including the state’s BRT buses.At the moment, it is not known the extent of the destruction caused by the protesters, but it will definitely run into hundreds of millions of naira. However, when one looks at it, the law banning these people from the expressways is a good one.

It is even dangerous for motorcycles to be plying such busy expressways. It should surprise no one that some Okada operators even ply the Third Mainland Bridge.While the protesters should not see the government as wicked, they should know the chief executive of the state, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola(SAN), knows what he is doing, and he has the best interest of the people at heart.
